On May 8th, the Oak Bay Police Department received a Mischief report in the 200 block of Beach Drive. The homeowner reported that he found three small holes on his second floor window. The damage appeared to have come from a pellet gun. Neighbourhood enquiries were conducted with negative results. The window was required to be replaced and no injuries were sustained in this incident. This file remains under investigation.
On May 10th, the police received a report of a stolen licence plate and the attached decal from a utility trailer in the 2000 block of Milton Street. The licence plate and decal were added as stolen to the police database.
On May 11th, the Oak Bay Police Department received a graffiti complaint that occurred at a Church located in the 1300 block of Mitchell Street. The suspect used white spray paint on an exterior wall and the pillar at the front entrance. The file remains under investigation.
On May 12th, the Oak Bay Police conducted foot patrols at Willows Beach and observed groups of people with open liquor. Several liquor seizures occurred and the police want to remind the public not to consume or possess on liquor in a public place. The prescribed fine for this Liquor Offence is $230.00
On May 13th, Oak Bay Police were requested to assist with a family custody issue. During the investigation, it was determined that a Family Court Order existed, but the Order was from a foreign country. Police would like to remind the public that an Order from foreign countries are not valid within Canada and to attend Courts in the proper Canadian jurisdiction to apply for a new Order upon their arrival.
