On August 1st, we informed the public that the Cowichan Search & Rescue Team had located a deceased individual 11 kms from the point where Ms. Barman’s vehicle had been located. As foul play was not suspected, the Coroners Service was the lead and began working to positively identify the deceased.
Today, the Coroner’s Office has confirmed that the deceased individual is, in fact, Ms. Gladys Barman.
We have notified the next-of-kin and they continue to ask for their privacy to be respected.
