The effects of crime are often traumatic, impacting many areas of our life.  Victims may experience shock, anger, isolation, disbelief, grief, confusion, fear and stress.  All of these are natural responses to a traumatic event, and reactions and emotions can change as the days, weeks and months go by.

These feelings may be compounded by having to deal with physical injuries and/or financial loss.

On the Side of the Angels is our motto at Greater Victoria Police Victim Services.  Although we can not prevent or eliminate crime or trauma, we offer the support, information and understanding needed to help through the healing process.  Our services are free, our staff and volunteers are highly skilled and we offer assistance in a caring environment.  After all, we are on the side of the angels.
