Weekly Media Release April 1 – April 7, 2019

On April 1st, 2019, The Oak Bay Police attended to a report of graffiti to a pumping station in the Henderson Area.  The station was covered in graffiti both inside and outside.  No suspect has been identified.

On April 1st, 2019, Oak Bay Police received a report of a theft from two vehicles which had occurred in the 2000 block of Windsor Rd on March 28, 2019.  The vehicles had been left unlocked and over $4,500.00 in items were taken.

On April 6, 2019, Oak Bay Police received a call of a vehicle which had been entered in the 2100 block of Florence St.  The contents of the vehicle were strewn around, but nothing was taken.  It is believed the vehicle was left unlocked.

On April 6, 2019, Oak Bay Police responded to an alarm in the 2200 block of Oak Bay Ave.  After further investigation and attendance of the property representative, it was found the business was entered and a few items were stolen.  The event is still under investigation.

On April 7, 2019, Oak Bay Police received a report of a theft from vehicle in the 2000 block of Foul Bay Rd.  The theft occurred on April 4.  Miscellaneous golf equipment was stolen.

During the past week, Oak Bay Police attended three collisions caused by drivers not properly stopping or yielding at a controlled intersection.  Oak Bay Police would like to remind residents to obey all traffic control devices and to properly clear intersections prior to engaging their vehicles in the intersections.

During the past week, Oak Bay Police responded to two suspicious persons call.  In both cases, a person was observed looking into vehicles and onto properties.  Residents are reminded to remain vigilant, report suspicious activity and lock their vehicles and residences.
