On April 16th, police were called to the 900 block of Foul Bay Road for a report of vandalism to vehicle that occurred sometime over night. The vehicle appeared to have been keyed, the tires were slashed, and the rear window wiper was ripped off. The matter is still under investigation.
On April 18th, police were called to the 2000 block of Oak Bay Ave for a report of a disturbance. A male was visiting a neighbouring apartment when he began to get agitated and started throwing furniture around and smashing windows. Police attended and apprehended him under the Mental Health Act. He was transported to hospital to be examined by a doctor.
On April 19th, police were called to the 2100 block of Oak Bay Avenue for an aggressive panhandler. The male was asking people for cigarettes on private property. He became aggressive with staff when they asked him to leave. Police arrived and the male willingly departed without incident.
On April 20th, police were called to the 2700 block of Lincoln Road for a report of an unresponsive male. Police attended and began CPR until Oak Bay Fire and BC Ambulance arrived to take over. The male could not be revived. Detectives and Forensic Identification officers were called to the scene. The cause of death is still under investigation.
On April 20th, police were called to the Lawn Bowling Club at Carnarvon Park for a reported Break and Enter that occurred sometime overnight. Culprits forced entry into the building and made off with a small amount of cash and an iPad. File is still under investigation.
On April 20th, police were called to the 600 Block of Falkland Road to assist an elderly woman had been knocked down and bitten by an off-leash dog. The woman was taken by ambulance to hospital. Victoria Animal Control were called in to investigate. The dog owners were very cooperative with police and Animal Control. The victim is expected to make a full recovery.
On April 21st, police were called to the 2000 block of Oak Bay Avenue for a report of an Assault With a Weapon. Police arrived and determined that an adult female had got into an argument with her common-law boyfriend and attacked him with a crowbar. He sustained cuts to his scalp. The female was arrested by police and transported to cells for the night. A Tele-bail hearing was held the next day where she spoke with a Justice of the Peace. She was released on conditions.
