Weekly Media Release April 26 – May 2, 2021

On Thursday April 29th, the Oak Bay Police received a report of a stolen propane tank in the 2600 block of Estevan Ave. The Oak Bay Police Department has seen an increase in the number of dumped empty propane tanks and an increase in stolen full propane tanks around the Marina area. Still under investigation (OB File 2021-1234).

On Saturday May 1st, the Oak Bay Police received a report of Mischief that occurred at the Oak Bay High School. Some youths were observed throwing paint capsules and eggs at the school. CCTV footage being obtained. File still under investigation (OB 2021-1260).

On Saturday May 1st, the Oak Bay Police received a report of a theft from automobile in the 900 block of Hampshire Rd. The vehicle had been left unlocked and was rummaged through. Nothing taken. No suspects identified (OB 2021-1264).

On Saturday May 1st, the Oak Bay Police received a report of a possible impaired driver driving northbound on Foul Bay Rd. from Crescent Rd. Members on foot patrol pulled the vehicle over and investigation determined the driver had been drinking. The 22-year-old male driver was issued a 3-day driving suspension, a ticket for no Insurance and his vehicle was impounded for 7 days (OB 2021-1272).

On Saturday May 1st, the Oak Bay Police received a report of a theft from automobile in the 2200 block of McNeil Ave. The vehicle had been left unlocked and was rummaged through. A child’s backpack full of clothes was taken and the clothes were later located on a neighbour’s lawn. No suspects identified (OB 2021-1274).
