Weekly Media Release April 8 – April 14, 2019

On April 10th, police received a report of Fraud in the 2100 block of Foul Bay Road. The complainant reported receiving a call from someone claiming to be from BC Health and that they owed money for unpaid Health Care Premiums. Investigation showed that it was a legitimate collections agency acting on behalf of the government agency.

On April 12th, police received a report of Identity Fraud with a significant amount of  money accessed. The matter is still under investigation.

On April 12th, police were called to the 2100 block of Beach Drive for a complaint of Theft From Vehicle that occurred sometime overnight. Keys and prescription glasses taken.

On April 13th, police were called to the 2700 Block of Cadboro Bay Road for a report of an attempted Break and Enter to a residence. Culprit(s) used a screwdriver to try to pry open a basement window. They were unsuccessful as a wooden dowel had been placed in the window track. The window glass was cracked, but no entry was gained to the residence.

On April 14th, police received a report of a bicycle stolen sometime overnight from the 2100 block of Sutherland Road. Described as a light green 5-speed bicycle, 40 years old.

On April 14th, police received a report of Theft From Vehicle in the 2200 block of Oak Bay Avenue. Culprit(s) forced their way into the vehicle and took a power booster and some change.
