20-2535 Breach of Curfew
In the morning hours of August 16th Oak Bay PD member attended an address in South Oak Bay to conduct a curfew check on a male that is bound by strict court-imposed conditions. The male was not home and in breach of his conditions. Charges have been forwarded to Crown for approval.

In the afternoon of August 16th Oak Bay PD responded to an anonymous complaint regarding a highly intoxicated person that had been laying on the ground for approximately an hour. Oak Bay PD members responded along with EHS. The person was assessed by the Paramedics and transported to the hospital.

August 18th the Police responded to the area of King George Terrace for a cycling accident. A youth had cyclist had fallen of his bicycle coming down hill at a very high rate of speed. Fortunately, the cyclist was not seriously injured and was treated by EHS for minor injuries on scene. Police wish to remind the cyclist community that when cycling on the roadway you are subject to the same rules of the road as a motor vehicle. Please cycle with care.

August 22nd Oak Bay Police assisted the Canadian Coast guard in removing a derelict Vessel from the waters of Willows beach. The vessel Callie Belle was towed from Oak Bay water by the Coast guard. The vessel was not sufficiently anchored and the Coast guard deemed it as a potential environmental hazard.

In the evening of August 22nd, Oak Bay Police responded to assist the Oak Bay Fire Dept. in the 1500 Block of Hampshire with a house fire. House fire started in the attic of the home. Home sustained minimal fire damage however the fire department had to cut holes in the roof to help ventilate the smoke. The residents did not sustain any injuries.

On August 23rd at approximately 2300 hrs., Oak Bay Police members were conducting patrols at Cattlepoint in an unmarked police car. Upon their arrival police observed a couple vehicles stunting in the parking lot. Vehicles were subsequently stopped as they were leaving the park. Drivers were issued Violation tickets for Driving Without Consideration and Failing to produce Drivers License.
