Weekly Media Release December 21-27, 2020

The Oak Bay Police Department responded to 83 calls for service this week.

On December 21st, the Oak Bay Police received a theft from auto report in the 2000 block of Milton St. The theft occurred overnight, and the vehicle was believed to be unlocked. Suspect rummaged through the vehicle’s glove box. Stolen: black Tom Ford sunglasses with case, $5 in coins and a small portable light. (OB File 20-4038)

On December 24th, the Oak Bay Police re received a theft from auto report in the 2000 block of Bowker Ave. The theft occurred some time last week. The vehicle was believed to be unlocked. Suspect stole a large quantity of gifts valued at over $1000.00. This investigation is still ongoing. (OB File 20-4075)

On December 26th, the Oak Bay Police received a theft from auto report in the 1400 block of St. Patrick St. The theft occurred overnight, and the vehicle was believed to be unlocked. Suspect rummaged through the vehicle and stole a package of cigarettes. (OB File 20-4096)

On December 26th at 9:40 p.m., an Oak Bay Police member was on patrol when he observed a vehicle travelling westbound on Oak Bay Ave and Oliver St without its lights on. The officer conducted a traffic stopped and during the course of speaking with the 63 year old female the officer determined that she had consumed alcohol. As a result of this investigation, the driver was served with a three-day driving prohibition was served with a three-day vehicle impound. (OB 20-4098)
