Weekly Media Release Feb. 11 – Feb. 17, 2019

Oak Bay Police responded to 73 calls for service.

On February 11, 2019, Oak Bay Police received a report of a theft from vehicle in the 2200 block of Central Ave.  A pair of sunglasses were stolen.

On February 11, 2019, Oak Bay Police received a report of a suspicious male trying to break-in to storage units in the 1500 block of Clive Dr.  The male was interrupted by residents and fled the scene prior to police arrival.

On February 12, 2019, a found ring was brought in to the Oak Bay Police Station.  The ring was located in the area of Fort and Foul Bay.  If you believe this is your ring, please come to the Oak Bay Police Station and provide a detailed description.

On February 14, 2019, Oak Bay Police received a report of thefts from two unlocked motor vehicles in the 1000 block of Monterey Ave. A small amount of change was stolen.

On February 14, 2019, two vehicles were rummaged through in the 2100 block of Hall Rd.  Fortunately nothing was taken.

On February 15, 2019, Oak Bay Police responded to a report of a pedestrian struck at the intersection of Oak Bay Ave and Wilmot Pl.  The pedestrian suffered minor injuries and was taken to hospital as a precaution.  Witnesses advised the pedestrian stepped onto the road without giving any time for traffic to stop and was then hit.  Police would like to remind everyone to be vigilant for one another and to give ample reaction time to other users of the road.

On February 15, 2019, Oak Bay Police responded to a report of mischief at the Municipal Hall’s public washroom.  The door to the men’s washroom cubical had been pulled off its hinges causing minor damages.

On February 16, 2019, Oak Bay Police received a report of a licence plate stolen from the 2100 block of Weald Rd. 

On February 17, 2019, Oak Bay Police received a report that a vehicle was rummaged through in the 2900 block of Foul Bay Rd.  Nothing was taken.
