Weekly Media Release Feb. 18 – Feb. 24, 2019

Over the past week the Oak Bay Police responded to four theft from vehicle incidents. The vehicles were unlocked and the suspects stole the following items:

  • Assorted change
  • 2 iPods
  • Asus laptop
  • Cell phone

These thefts occurred in the 2900 Lansdowne Road, 2500 blk Thompson Avenue, 900 blk Transit Road and the 2700 blk Eastdowne Road

On February 19, Oak Bay Police received a report of a bicycle theft from Oak Bay High School. The thief stole a hybrid style, white/grey Specialized Mountain bicycle

On February 22, the Oak Bay Police attended a Criminal Harassment incident that occurred in the 1000 blk of Foul Bay Road. A male tenant in an apartment building was harassing another resident. The male tenant was arrested for Criminal Harassment and released on a Promise to Appear (PTA) to attend court at a later date. An Undertaking was also issued not to communicate directly or indirectly with the other party.

On February 22, the police responded to a hit & run at the intersection of Hampshire Rd/Oak Bay Avenue. The offending vehicle lost its front licence plate which was recovered at the scene. The registered owner was issued a violation tickets which totalled $679.00.
