Weekly Media Release March 12 – 18, 2018

 On March 13th, an aluminum silver coloured single speed Men’s Felt Brougham bike with a large LED taillight of “Mutual of Enumclaw” was stolen from the 1200 block of Beach Drive in Oak Bay.  Please notify the Oak Bay Police Department if this distinctive bike is seen.

On March 14th at 11 am the Oak Bay Police and other partners assisted the UVic Indigenous Law Students Association in a peaceful demonstration at the University of Victoria by ensuring the safe movement of pedestrian and vehicle traffic on campus during the demonstration.

On March 15th, at 7:10 pm, a concerned citizen called the Oak Bay Police to report an impaired driver parked in the 2600 block Foul Bay Rd, Oak Bay as the driver was slumped over behind the wheel of a vehicle. The Oak Bay Police then attended and found the driver, in care and control of the vehicle. After investigation the driver’s licence was seized, his vehicle was impounded for 30 days, and he was issued a 90-day immediate roadside prohibition.

On March 16th 2018 Oak Bay Police received a complaint that a red Norco tandem bike was stolen sometime overnight from Oak Bay High school located at 2121 Cadboro Bay Road in Oak Bay.

A camera was turned into Oak Bay Police on March 16th that had been found on Oak Bay Avenue.  It contains many pictures of family vacation type scenarios.  Please attend at the Oak Bay Police Department if you can describe the camera and picture contents.
