Weekly Media Release Nov. 11 – Nov. 17, 2019

On November 12th, police received a report of Theft Under from the 3400 block of Ripon Road. Sometime between November 9th and 11th, unknown person(s) took an 8’ Maxxon inflatable dinghy that had been left on the beach.

On November 12th, police received a report of Theft from Vehicle that occurred in the 1400 block of Oliver Street. Sometime over night, culprits entered the unlocked vehicle and took an older Garmin GPS as well as the insurance papers for the vehicle.

On November 13th, police received a report of Theft from Vehicle that occurred in the 2100 block of Fair Street. Sometime overnight, culprits entered the unlocked vehicle and took some change from the console.

On November 14th, police were flagged down by a severely intoxicated male in the 2200 block of Oak Bay Ave. The male could not remember where he lived. He was transported to hospital to be examined.

On November 14th, police were called to the 2000 block of Frederick Norris Road for a report of Theft of Bicycle. The complainant reported that some time between November 8th and 9th, an unknown person came into his back yard and took an unlocked mountain bike. The bicycle was described as a fluorescent green GT Stomper Ace youth mountain bike.

On November 14th, police were called to the 2700 block of Somass Drive for a report of a male camping on the beach. Police located the male, who had a beach fire. He was identified and departed the area without incident. Oak Bay Fire Department attended to extinguish the fire.

On November 15th, police received a report of Fraud that occurred through a local bank. The complainant advised that someone accessed his account and wire transferred $25000 overseas. The bank is investigating.

On November 15th, police received a report of Break and Enter to storage units at an apartment building on Clive Drive. Sometime overnight, several of the locks to the storage units were cut and items taken. The matter is still under investigation.
