Weekly Media Release Nov. 19 – Nov. 25, 2018

On November 20th, police were advised of a break and enter to a storage area in the 1500 block of Clive Drive some time in the past week. The suspect pried open the lock to gain access and stole a silver women’s Norco bicycle.  The file is still under investigation.

On November 20th, police received a report of a break and enter to a residence in the 2000 block of Lorne Terrace. The suspect entered the house and began going through a bucket of loose coins. The home owner challenged the male, who left on foot. The male is known to the homeowner and police. Charges are pending.

On November 21st, police attended the corner of St. Ann and Bowker where a cyclist had been knocked over by a deer. The female rider came around the corner onto southbound St. Anne. The buck, in the company of a doe and fawn, charged the cyclist knocking her off her bicycle. Nearby residents provided a blanket and comfort to the lady, who was taken to hospital for examination. She suffered a shoulder injury and a mild concussion. BC Conservation Service was advised.

On November 21st, police were called to Cadboro Bay Road near Lansdowne Road for a report of a distraught male without a shirt smashing the bushes with his walker. Members arrived on scene, spoke with the male and calmed him down to the point where he could be sent on his way without further incident.
