|On October 24th, 2018, Oak Bay Police responded to a report of graffiti in the 2300 block of Cedar Hill Cross Rd. The property was tagged between October 19th and 24th. There was a total of 9 different tags.
On October 24th, 2018, Oak Bay Police attended the 2000 block of Esplanade for a report of graffiti. The property was tagged between October 19th and 21st.
On October 26th, 2018, Oak Bay Police were conducting surveillance on a prolific property crime offender. Officers observed the individual in breach of a number of his release conditions. The male was arrested and held in custody to appear in court. Erik VANDEN-BULCK was charged with 4 counts of Breach of Recognizance. He plead guilty and was sentenced to 30 days in jail and 12 months of probation. “When we learn of a prolific offender in our community, we immediately and consistently dedicate the time and resources to ensure the offender complies with any and all conditions.” Deputy Chief Ray Bernoties
On October 26th, 2018, Oak Bay Police received a report that a male had smeared a substance on the window of a business in the 2200 block of Oak Bay Ave. Officers attended the scene but the male had already departed. Officers were able to determine the substance was not biological. Officers later located the male with apparent mental health issues. Officers were able to assist the male.
On October 26th, 2018, a crossbow bolt was turned in to the Oak Bay Police Department. The bolt was located in the 3300 block of Cadboro Bay Rd. The bolt had a hunting bolt head. Please report any suspicious activity.
During the nights of October 26 & 27, 2018, Oak Bay Police were out doing a Road Safety BC Traffic enforcement initiative. Numerous violation tickets were issued for Motor Vehicle Act offenses. Two drivers were investigated for impaired driving related offences and were issued 90 days driving prohibitions. Both of their vehicles were impounded for 30 days.
On October 27th 2018, a vehicle was entered in the 2600 block of Cavendish Avenue. Loose change stolen.
On October 27th 2018, a vehicle was entered in the 2100 block of Epworth street in Oak Bay BC. Loose change was also stolen from this vehicle.
On October 27th 2018, a vehicle was entered in the 1500 block of Monterey Avenue.
On October 28th 2018, a vehicle was entered in the 100 block of Beach Drive. Loose change and some personal gifts were taken from this vehicle
On October 28th 2018, a vehicle was entered in the 900 block of Foul Bay Road. Some camera items were stolen from this vehicle. Police are reminding residents to keep vehicles locked and valuables out of sight.
