Weekly Media Release Oct. 29 – Nov. 4, 2018

Oak Bay Police attended to 110 calls for service this week.

Monday October 29th was a busy day for theft from auto reports.  Seven reports were taken, all from UNLOCKED vehicles.  Areas targeted included Falkland Rd., Oliver St., Oak Bay Ave, Clive, Eastdowne and Haultain, 1400 blk. Beach Dr.  Oak Bay Police would like to remind residents once again to please lock your car doors.

Monday October 29th Oak Bay Police received a complaint of a fraud that had occurred.  The complainant was told that he won a sum of money and the shipper was asking for $300 in Amazon gift cards to cover the cost of the delivery.  If someone asks you to pay for anything using any gift cards, it’s a scam!

Fortunately, Hallowe’en was not any busier than any other night in Oak Bay.
