Weekly Media Release Sept. 16th – Sept. 22, 2019

On September 16th, police were called to a business on Oak Bay Ave. for a report of Theft Under $5000 that occurred sometime in the last few days. An unknown person entered the business while the staff were busy and took an iPad and “Square” payment stand valued at $900.

On September 16th, police were called to a residence on Topp Ave. for a report of Thefts from Vehicles. Two vehicles at the same residence were entered overnight. The owners found items strewn over the ground.

On September 16th, two bicycles were reported stolen in separate incidents, one from the high school and one from a residence in the 1000 block of Hampshire road. Neither bicycle was locked up.

On September 17th, police were called to the 2500 block of Dufferin Ave for a Break and Enter that occurred sometime overnight. The homeowner found boxes in the garage had been rummaged through.

On September 19th, police stopped a vehicle in the early morning hours. Investigation showed the driver had consumed liquor. After a breath demand, two breath samples were provided, both of which resulted in a “Fail”. The driver was issued a 90-Day Immediate Roadside Prohibition and her vehicle was impounded for 30 days.

On September 21st, police responded to a Theft from Vehicle that occurred sometime overnight in the 1100 block of St David Street. A set of headphones and a gas card was taken.

On September 21st, police received a report of Theft from Vehicle that occurred in the 1700 block of St Ann Street. Sometime overnight, person(s) unknown entered the unlocked vehicle and took a change purse.

On September 22nd, police were called to the 1600 block of Monterey Ave for a report of Theft from Vehicle that occurred sometime over the last few days. Unknown person(s) entered the vehicle and took a change purse.
