Oak Bay Police attended to 87 calls for service this week.

In the early hours of Monday morning, a camera, valued at $1800, was stolen from an unlocked vehicle in the 3000 block of Henderson Road.

Around the same time, two bikes, valued at $3000 dollars, were stolen in the 1400 block of Beach Drive.

Thursday morning, three separate unlocked vehicles were entered in the 2200 block of Estevan Avenue, 1500 block of Clive Drive and the 1900 block of Beach Drive. While only coins where stolen from the first two vehicles, a brief case and wallet where stolen from the third vehicle.

Once again police remind you to keep your vehicles locked and remove anything of value from the vehicle interior.

Oak Bay Fire responded to a fire/smoke call on Orchard Avenue. A motorist decided to run over the fire hose which is extremely dangerous to both fire fighters and bystanders. Police spoke to the driver and they realized their error. A warning was issued. Please avoid any areas where firefighters are working or only proceed through when directed by a police officer of fire fighter.

Saturday morning another unlocked vehicle was entered in the Clive Drive area.

Saturday night a large tree fell over on to the roof of a house in the 2000 block of Granite Street. No injuries where reported. Damage is yet to be determined.
