This is the Weekly media release for the week of September 23rd to 29th, 2019
On September 24th, police received a report of Theft Under $5000 that occurred some time within the last ten days. Person(s) unknown boarded a sailboat that was moored in Cadboro Bay and made off with sails, ropes and an anchor valued at approximately $4000.
The matter is still under investigation.
On September 27th, police stopped a vehicle on Cadboro Bay Road at Bowker Ave. The driver shows signs of consuming liquor, so a Breath Demand was made. The driver provided two breath samples, both resulting in a “Fail”. The driver was issued a 90-Day Immediate Roadside Prohibition and their vehicle was impounded for 30 days.
On September 28th, police received a report of Theft from Motor Vehicle which occurred in the 2000 block of Carrick Street. Sometime overnight, person(s) unknown entered the vehicle and took a wallet. The matter is still under investigation.
On September 29th, police received a report of Theft of Dinghy Over $5000 from the 3400 block of Ripon Road. Sometime between September 28th at 4:30 PM and September 29th at 10:00 AM, person(s) unknown took a white Mercury Inflatable Dinghy powered by a Mercury 20 HP outboard motor. The value is believed to be approximately $15,000.
