Oak Bay Police Department are seeking assistance from the public to identify a person of interest involved in a physical altercation that took place on the front porch of a residence on Hall Rd. in Oak Bay, British Columbia.

At approximately 8:30am on November 3, 2022, an 85-year-old man answered a knock at his front door believing it was a person delivering his morning newspaper. Upon opening the door, he was confronted by a woman stating, “I am coming in!”.  The elderly man protested, and a struggle ensued. The woman pushed the elderly man who was caught and steadied by a neighbor who heard the commotion and rushed to the man’s assistance.

The woman fled on foot and was pursued by the neighbor for a short distance. The woman was last seen on Beach Dr.  walking towards Foul Bay Road. The neighbor was able to capture a photo of the woman before he returned to check on his neighbor and call police.

The elderly man was left shaken and did not sustain any significant injuries, due in part to the help he received from his neighbor.

Extensive patrols and neighborhood inquiries were made however the woman was not located and has not yet been identified.

The woman is described as 20 to 25 years old, Caucasian or possibly of Asian descent, average build, 5ft 6”, with dark brown hair.  At the time of the offence the woman was wearing a black coat, long black skirt, ruffled white ankle socks, white t-shirt, black leather shoes and a yellow hat (photo attached).
