On August 8th, Oak Bay Police received a report of a stolen child’s motorized Ford Black pickup truck from a residence backyard in the 2100 block of Fair Street, in Oak Bay.
On August 10th, the Oak Bay Police Department conducted a roadblock on Beach Drive and Goodwin Street, in Oak Bay and a 90-day Immediate Roadside Prohibition (IRP) was served on an impaired driver and their vehicle was impounded for 30 days.
On August 10th, the Oak Bay Police Department assisted the Victoria Police Department in locating a vehicle that had been involved in a minor hit and run motor vehicle collision that had occurred on Cook Street, in Victoria.
The Oak Bay Police Department responded to a hit and run collision in the 1200 block of Beach Drive, in Oak Bay. The complainant advised a green SUV vehicle had just struck his vehicle, but that the driver did not stop to render assistance.
Police are reminding drivers that:
Any collision that causes damage, injury or death to others resulting from the operation of your vehicle requires you to provide assistance and information. In the case of a collision with an unattended vehicle or other property, the driver must take reasonable steps to locate the owner, driver or person in charge and notify them in writing of their identity, the identity of the owner of the offending vehicle and the license plate number of that vehicle.
On August 12th, at 10:30 pm the Oak Bay Police Department assisted the Oak Bay Fire Department with traffic control as two hydro poles above transformers caught fire in the area of Beach Drive, and St. Patrick Street, in Oak Bay.
On August 13th, the Oak Bay Police Department investigated mischief to a vehicle in the 2100 block of Allenby Street, which had occurred overnight, where an unknown person had smashed the glass out of a vehicle’s driver side mirror.
