A witness observed lumber being removed from a construction site in the 2500 McNeill Avenue. The witness obtained a license plate number which lead to the investigator identifying a suspect.
Friday, December 12
A collision occurred involving a vehicle and a baby stroller at Beach Drive and Estevan in the crosswalk. The driver of was south bound on Beach when he suddenly noticed someone pushing an infant in a stroller in the crosswalk. The vehicle attempted to stop and swerved, clipping the stroller and knocking the infant onto the roadway. When investigating members arrived at the scene the infant was back in the stroller with the caregiver. Paramedics attended but didn’t find any visible injuries however it was decided to transport the infant to the VGH for a routine check. The infant was released after being examined. The driver of the vehicle was issued a violation ticket for failing to yield to a pedestrian under the Motor Vehicle Act.
Sunday, December 14
A vehicle was checked during an impaired check stop in the 1500 block of Beach Drive. The driver of the vehicle admitted to having some drinks and was subsequently requested to provide a sample of breath on a roadside screening device. The results of the test lead to a 3 day Immediate Roadside Prohibition for the driver.
During a vehicle stop near Foul Bay Road and Allenby Street, the driver gave off a strong odor of liquor but stated he never had anything to drink. The investigation revealed that the driver had been drinking and was issued a 90 day Immediate Roadside Prohibition.
Also in the past week several cars were entered in various neighborhoods and items stolen. All of the cars entered were left unlocked.
