On Monday, October 18th, a patrol officer was conducting traffic enforcement in the area of McNeill Avenue and Monterey Avenue and noted a vehicle without insurance since May of 2021. The driver was issued a violation ticket for “No Insurance” with a prescribed fine of $598.00.

OB File #2021-3236

On Monday, October 18th, the Oak Bay Police Department was conducting radar enforcement in the 2100 block of Cadboro Bay Road. A vehicle was driving above the posted 30 km/hr school zone and a traffic stop was initiated. The officer issued a violation ticket for the following motor vehicle violations:

  • No Insurance                               $598.00
  • Speeding in a School Zone    $196.00

On Tuesday, October 19th, the Oak Bay Police was conducting radar enforcement in the 2000 block Foul Bay Road when an officer observed a vehicle travelling southbound on Foul Bay Road was driving 119 km/hr in a posted 50 km/hr zone. A violation ticket was issued for excessive speed ($368.00), along with a 7-day vehicle impoundment.

On Wednesday, October 20th, the Oak Bay Police Department responded to a bank in the 2000 block of Oak Bay Avenue where a 23-year-old female was trying to open an account with fraudulent documents. The female was arrested for possessing forged documents pursuant to Section 368 (1)(d) of the Criminal Code of Canada. She was released on a Form 10 Promise to Appear to attend court at late date.

On Thursday, October 21st, a patrol officer was conducting radar enforcement in the 2800 block of Foul Bay Road. The speeding vehicle was driving northbound at 101 km/hr in a posted 50 km/hr zone. A traffic stop was conducted, and the driver was issued a violation ticket for excessive speed ($368.00 fine) and a 7-day vehicle impoundment.

On Sunday, October 24th, a patrol officer was conducting traffic enforcement in the 3900 block of Gordon Head Road and noticed an expired decal on a vehicle. Police records showed that the vehicle’s insurance was expired in September 2021. The driver was issued a violation ticket for “No Insurance” ($598.00 fine) and the vehicle was towed.
