Monday July 3, Police attended to a deer struck call in the 2900 block of Beach Drive. The deer was never located; however, police are reminding motorists to be cautious of deer running in front of moving vehicles.
Tuesday July 4th, a report of a bicycle theft in the 1300 block of Beach Drive.
Wednesday July 5th, a cyclist collided with an opening door in the Beach Drive/Bowker Avenue area. The driver of a white pickup sped off and no license plate was obtained. The cyclist was taken to hospital with minor injuries. Police are requesting information to determine the identity of the pickup driver.
Thursday July 6th, Police responded to a domestic assault. A male suspect was arrested, charged and held for court.
Police were required to climb into a residence window to allow ambulance paramedics to gain entry to deal with a medical emergency. Patient was subsequently transported to hospital.
There was a theft from an unlocked vehicle on Eastdowne Road and a smashed car window on Island Road
Friday July 7th, St Mary’s Church on Elgin Street had a laptop stolen when the suspect climbed through an open window some time between 10:00 pm and 8:30 am. Police are requesting the public’s help in identifying a suspect.
Sunday July 9th, a vehicle was stopped for a speeding violation. A small quantity of drugs was seized along with a restricted weapon. No charges were laid, however, the driver was issued several traffic violations.
During the early morning hours, a vehicle was stopped for mechanical defects. The driver was arrested for impaired driving and subsequently issued a 90-Day IRP. The vehicle was impounded for 30 days. Coincidently the registered owner who was a passenger at the time had this same vehicle impounded last year for the same impaired driving offence.
