On October 19, the Oak Bay Police Department received a report of a stolen bicycle that was locked in front of the Oak Bay Marina gift shop. The bicycle is described as a red Renegade 3.5 trail bicycle (approximate value: $200.00).

On October 19, the Oak Bay Police Department received a report of a daytime residential break and enter in the 500 block of Victoria Avenue. The suspect gained entry from the ground level back door and entered the house and stole several items. The homeowners were not home at the time of the incident. The Saanich Police Forensic Identification Section attended the scene and the investigation is ongoing.

On October 19, the Oak Bay Police Department responded to a suspicious male riding a bicycle in the 2000 block of Lansdowne Road. The male was riding his bicycle slowly looking at houses and parked cars. The male was described as a Caucasian, 30 yrs old, approximately 5’10”, slim build, possibly a shaved head, wearing a black baseball cap, black backpack and heavily tattooed with a black tattoo on his neck.

On October 20, the Oak Bay Police Department received a report of an overnight commercial break and enter at business in the 2900 block of Foul Bay Road. The suspect forcibly entered through the back door and stole an iPad-mini. The surveillance camera did not capture the suspect inside the premise. The Saanich Forensic Identification Section attended the scene and the investigation is ongoing.

On October 21, the Oak Bay Police Department responded to an intoxicated male in a restaurant in the 2200 block of Oak Bay Avenue. Upon police attendance the male fled the scene and was apprehended a few blocks away. He was arrested for being intoxicated in a public place. The male was combative with police and he was handcuffed and placed into the rear seat of the police vehicle. While being transported to cells the male continued to hit his head against the divider. The male was then apprehended under the Mental Health Act and attended the hospital for a mental health assessment.

On October 22, the Oak Bay Police Department received a theft complaint from a business in the 2200 block of Oak Bay Avenue. The male stole approximately $120 in Sharpie pens and fled the scene westbound on Oak Bay Avenue. The male was described as a Caucasian male, approximately 30 years old, wearing black ripped up jeans and a white t-shirt and a grey Under Armour hat. The male was captured on surveillance cameras and the investigation is ongoing to identify the male.

On October 25, the Oak Bay Police observed a vehicle driving near Foul Bay Road and Crescent Road with no front or rear licence plates. The driver was prohibited from driving and was issued a Promise to Appear to attend court. The vehicle was impounded for 7 days.
