The Oak Bay Police Department is pleased to announce the hiring of it’s second officer in the last 4 days. Cst Benoit Lanthier was sworn in the morning of December 3, 2016. Cst Lanthier has seven years of police experience, all of which was with the Nanaimo Detachment of the RCMP. He has worked in Patrol Division and Traffic Services while stationed in Nanaimo.
Cst Lanthier applied with the Oak Bay Police Department because he feels that his style of policing is consistent with the type of policing that the Oak Bay Police Department is committed to providing the community it serves. He is very aware of the focus of the Department’s Strategic Plan, and is looking forward to working with the community to provide a safe environment for all residences to enjoy. Cst Lanthier is bilingual, being fluent in both French and English.
Cst Lanthier is married to wife Jill, and they have a 21 month old son.
