On February 15, 2013, at 3:45am, a member of the Oak Bay Police Department arrested 22-year-old Benjamin Schooner on an outstanding Canada-wide warrant.

The arrest occurred in the 2500 block of Eastdowne Road when a patrol officer noted a suspicious male walking along the sidewalk. The officer was initially provided a false name by the male but the subject’s true identity was quickly ascertained through further questioning. The warrant had been issued on February 13^th when Schooner failed to return to his half way house.

Schooner has a criminal history spanning the last nine years which includes convictions for Robbery, Weapons and Assault among others. At the time of his arrest, he was found to be in possession of “Break-In” tools.

He was held in custody and is currently before the courts.
