At approximately 6 p.m. January 17th emergency responders attended a three vehicle motor vehicle accident on Lansdowne Road at the intersection with Henderson road.
After stopping at the stop sign on Henderson road, the driver of a SUV proceeded across the path of a westbound vehicle on Lansdowne Road. The vehicles collided causing the SUV to flip onto its side and slide into a third vehicle. The driver of the suv was subsequently trapped inside the overturned vehicle for approximately one half hour before emergency crews were able to free the 46 year old woman.
The collision resulted in extensive damage to all three vehicles. Two drivers were taken to hospital. Fortunately injuries are not serious.
The driver of the SUV was charged with failing to proceed in safety after stopping for a stop sign.
