On Thursday October 27, 2016 at approximately 6:20 pm a lone female was walking on Foul Bay Road near Oak Bay Ave. in Oak Bay. A male ran up to her from behind and touched her in an inappropriate manner. A few words were spoken between them and the male touched her again in the same manner and ran away. He was last seen approaching Foul Bay Road but the direction of travel after that is unknown.
The male is described as follows:
- Caucasian, 5’ 7”, 170 to 180 pounds, slim face, no facial hair and possibly dark hair.
- Age: late teens to early 20’s.
- Wearing a dark hoodie with the hood over his head and dark jeans. He may have been wearing a denim vest.
- Carrying a backpack
There have been no other reports of similar incidents in the area.
While this has several similarities to events reported in the University of Victoria area earlier in the fall, police have confirmed the suspect in those events was not responsible for this event.
Oak Bay Police advise the investigation is ongoing and they are working with other area police agencies to identify any similar offences and a suspect.
Police are also asking anyone who may have witnessed this event or has any information that could assist the investigation to contact the Oak Bay Police at 250-592-2424 or call Crimestoppers.
