The Oak Bay Police Department received a report of a bicycle theft at Oak Bay High School. The culprit forcibly removed the lock and stole the bicycle from the designated bicycle rack area. The following description was provided by the owner:
Bright green 2007 Norco Big Foot with hydraulic disc brakes, black suspension with white lettering, black seat and black rims.
April 12th, 2017
The Oak Bay Police conducted a roadblock in the 1300 block of Beach Drive and issued a 90-day Immediate Roadside Prohibition (IRP) and their vehicle was impounded for 30 days. An additional 3-day IRP was also served to another driver.
April 13th, 2017
As a result of an impaired roadblock in the 1300 block of Beach Drive the police served another 3-day IRP.
April 16th, 2017
While conducting routine patrols in the 3400 block of Beach Drive a police officer observed a lone male slumped over in the driver’s seat while the engine was running. The vehicles doors were locked and the officer had to repeatedly knock on the widows of the vehicle including the windshield and the driver eventually woke up. An odour of liquor emanated from the vehicle and the officer observed a partially consumed bottle of vodka next to the driver. The driver was in Care and Control of the vehicle and he subsequently was served a 90-day IRP and a 30-day Vehicle Impoundment.
