Weekly Media Release April 13 – April 19,

On April 13th, Police responded to a theft of a yacht from the Oak Bay Marina. Police located and boarded the yacht and took a male into custody. The male has been charged with numerous offences. (OB file 2020-1133)

Theft from Autos for the Week:

Overnight April 14th to 15th: one in the 3400 block of Henderson Rd and one in the 2100 block of Kendal Ave. Personal item stolen from one vehicle. (OB files 2020-1165 & 1166)

Overnight April 15th to 16th: One in the 300 block of Sunset Ave. One in the 100 block of King George Terrace. These theft from autos resulted in wallets and credit cards being stolen and ultimately being used fraudulently. Files are still under investigation. Third theft from auto in the 2000 block of Oakdowne Rd. (OB files 2020-1174, 1176, and 1179)

Sometime between April 15th and 17th: One in the 3400 block of Cardiff Pl. A pair of sunglasses were stolen. (OB file 2020-1194)

Please remember to lock your vehicles at all times and not to leave any valuables in them.

Break and Enters from the week:

Overnight April16th to 17th: one in the 2000 block of Meadow Pl. The shed was broken into and multiple tools were stolen as well as an electric bicycle (A2B Metro). A second occurred at a detached garage in the 1500 block of Elgin Rd. Multiple tools were stolen. (OB files 2020-1189 & 1211)

The OBPD would like to remind everyone that the Esplanade parking lot and Willows Beach parking lot are only open to residential traffic at this time.
