On Feb 10th an Island Rd resident reported that they had some time ago thrown out several blank cheques and that now one of them had been cashed in Victoria for almost $1,000 by a person not known to them. The public is reminded to always destroy cheques and personal documents before disposing of them to prevent this kind of fraud.
On Feb 13th a resident observed 5 youths smashing glass street light globes in the 3000 block of Uplands Rd. Police attended to find 5 broken globes but could not locate the suspects.
On Feb 13, 2014 at 2345 hrs a vehicle was stopped in the 1300 block of Beach Drive for crossing the center line and the impaired driving investigation of the 60 yr old male driver resulted in him being issued a 90 day Immediate Roadside Prohibition and his vehicle was impounded for 30 days.
