On August 24th at approximately 7:30pm, while conducting traffic enforcement in the area of Beach Dr and Newport Ave., a 71-year-old male was stopped for going 95 km/h in a 40km/h zone. The driver was issued a violation ticket for Excessive Speeding under section 148(1) of the Motor Vehicle Act, with a fine of $368.00. The vehicle was towed and impounded for 7 days. (OBPD 2023-2553)

The driver was issued a violation ticket for Excessive Speeding under section 148(1) of the Motor vehicle act with a fine of $368.00. The motorcycle was towed and impounded for 7 days. (OB2023-2554)
Break and Enter
On August 26, 2023, at 7:55 pm, the Oak Bay Police received a report of a break and enter in the 2000 Block of Oak Bay Ave. The resident reported finding their storage locker broken into and a box of electronics, old iPhone and movies were missing. Break and Enter
On August 27, 2023, at 5:00pm, the Oak Bay Police received a report of a break and enter in the 400 block of Victoria Ave. The complainant reported finding that their residence had been broken into between the 25th and the 27th of August. The suspect stole jewelry, electronics, and documents. Total estimated value of loss has not been determined. This file is still under investigation. (OBPD 2023-2588)
