On Wednesday, July 21st, a homeowner in the 2400 block of Plumer Street contacted the Oak Bay Police regarding a stolen valtag. Sometime overnight the culprit stole the valtag from a 2000 Dodge motorhome.

On Wednesday, July 21st, two young people were fundraising door to door in the 100 block of King George Terrace. While they were speaking to a homeowner, they left their skateboard and scooter on the side road to the adjoining driveway. When they turned around to leave, they were gone. The scooter is a customized black with teal skulls and red grips, and the skateboard is a Spiderman brand with loose trucks. Approximate value for both items that were stolen is $150.00.

On Friday, July 23rd, a homeowner in the 1800 block of St. Ann Street reported that their bicycle was stolen from his driveway. The homeowner provided the following description of the stolen bicycle: Men’s 21 speed, regular Diadora Modena, blk/blue (approximate value: $400.00).

On Friday, July 23rd, a patrol member was conducting radar enforcement on Cedar Hill Cross Road. A green 2000 Honda Civic was stopped for speeding. The 20-year-old male driver showed signs of liquor indicia. An approved screening device was administered and showed a “WARN” reading. The driver was issued a 3-day driving prohibition and a 3-day vehicle impoundment. The driver was also issued the following traffic violations:
-Speeding with a prescribed fine of $196.00
-Drive contrary to restrictions with a fine of $109.00
-Fail to change address with a fine of $109.00

On Saturday, July 24th, a bicycle was stolen from a bicycle rack in front of a business in the 2000 block of Oak Bay Avenue. The bicycle was locked to the bicycle rack. The bicycle owner provided the following description: A black Norco City bike, small frame size with a water bottle and black basket on the back (approximate value: $800.00).

On Saturday, July 24th, the Oak Bay Police Department received another theft of a bicycle complaint in the 1800 block of Elgin Road. The bicycle was stolen from a gated parking garage in an apartment complex. The owner believes the suspect cut the lock from the bicycle rack. The bicycle is described as a green/yellow Trek FXL hybrid bicycle (approximate value: $650.00).

On Sunday, July 25th, a patrol member conducted a roadblock on Foul Bay Road. A Honda CRV approached the roadblock and the patrol member could smell liquor from the 33-year-old male driver. An ASD was administered which showed a “FAIL” reading. The driver was issued a 90-day immediate driving prohibition and a 30-day vehicle impoundment.

On Sunday, July 25th, a patrol member conducted a roadblock in the same location on Foul Bay Road. A silver 2013 Dodge Ram pickup truck approached the roadblock and the patrol member immediately observed two open cans of Coor’s beer and a mickey of liquor in the centre console. An ASD was administered which showed a “FAIL” reading. The 20-year-old male driver was issued a 90-day immediate driving prohibition and a 30-day vehicle impoundment.

On Sunday, July 25th, a boat owner from the Oak Bay Marina reported a theft from his boat. The theft occurred sometime overnight; the suspect stole the following items:
– 6 trail cameras
– 2 Bushnell binoculars
– Maui Jim sunglasses
– Aluminum paddle
– 2 Mustang inflatable life vests
Estimate value of the stolen items is $4000.00.
