On Monday, November 15th, a patrol member attended the 2000 block of Granite Street for a vehicle that was unoccupied and was confirmed stolen from Victoria’s jurisdiction. VicPD was notified, and they sent out their Forensic Identification Section to process the vehicle.

On Tuesday, November 16th, the Oak Bay Police responded to workplace incident in the 400 block of Newport Avenue. A 35-year-old male fell from a ladder set on scaffolding and appeared to have injured the lower portion of his legs. The male was transported to the hospital for his injuries and the incident has been reported to WorkSafe B.C.

On Friday, November 19th, the Oak Bay Police responded to a theft of a wallet from a local golf club. The wallet was stolen from a locked locker in the club house. The investigation is ongoing to identify the suspect through their CCTV cameras.

On Saturday, November 20th, a patrol member was dispatched to attend the 2300 block of Hamiota Street for a vehicle blocking a private driveway. The police member attended and confirmed that the vehicle was blocking the entire driveway and the vehicle was towed from the scene. The registered owner was notified of the circumstances.

On Saturday, November 20th, a patrol officer was conducting radar in the 2700 block of Foul Bay Road. A vehicle was travelling northbound at 88 km/hr in a posted 50 km/hr zone. A traffic stop was conducted for the speeding and the
officer could smell liquor emanating from the driver’s breath when he spoke. The driver refused to provide a sample of his breath into the Approved Screening Device (ASD). The driver was confrontational and made several statements that
he would not provide a sample of his breath. The driver was issued a 90-day Immediate Roadside Prohibition for refusing to provide a breath sample and his vehicle was impounded for 30-days. The driver was also issued a violation ticket for speeding with a fine of $196.00.
