Weekly Media Release for Oct. 12 – Oct. 17, 2021

On Tuesday, October 12th, the Oak Bay Police received a report of a stolen bicycle from Oak Bay High School. The suspect stole a men’s regular orange Norco Indie 2 Velentia bicycle with serial number: 9JE1L44174 that had an attached carrying case on the back.


OB File #2021-3187

On Wednesday, October 13th, the Oak Bay Police received another theft of a bicycle complaint in the 2100 block of Haultain Street. The owner left the bicycle in an open carport area of an apartment complex. The bicycle was described as a women’s black cruiser style, 15 gears, with red and white lettering with an attached wire basket. The apartment complex had a secure bike storage area; however, the bicycle owner did not use it. There were no CCTV cameras in the area. Approximate value of the bicycle is $200.00.

On Friday, October 15th, the Oak Bay Police received a theft from motor vehicle complaint on Mitchell Street. The registered owner was taking items out of his car and partially left the trunk open while he spent time in a house before coming out to gather more belongings. The car owner noticed that his MacBook Laptop and MEC jacket were stolen from his vehicle. The laptop was several years old and had a McMichael sticker on it. The laptop was in a black faux leather carrier along with a charge cord, cables, and a databank.
