On June 30, police responded to a theft from auto in the 2000 block of Dufferin Ave. Investigation revealed that the vehicle had been left unlocked and a number of items including an IPad, MacBook and a laptop computer were stolen. OBPD File 2020-2011.
On July 1, police responded to a number of calls. In the early morning hours, a member was on patrol when he observed two females walking their bikes along Lansdowne Road looking into recycling bins. The member stopped to talk to the females and learned that one of the females was wanted on warrants by the West Shore RCMP for Break and Enter and Theft over $5000. She was arrested without incident and subsequently released with a court date.
At approximately 830 am, that morning, police responded to the 2000 Block of Estevan Avenue for a report of graffiti spray painted and posters on a building. The graffiti was removed prior to police arrival. This investigation is ongoing. OBPD File 2020-2024.
At 342pm, that afternoon, police were dispatch to the Oak Bay Rec Centre for another report of graffiti. The graffiti was similar to the graffiti located on Estevan Avenue. In both cases, no suspects have been identified. This investigation is also ongoing.
On July 2, a member of the public attended the Oak Bay Police front counter to report a sleeping male in the ATM vestibule at TD Canada Trust located at 2000 Cadboro Bay Rd. Police attended and located a male laying in the vestibule. The male was arrested for breaching court condition and released on an Appearance notice to attend court. OBPD File 2020-2036.
On July 4, police responded to a report of a theft from vehicle in the 1000 Block of St Patrick St. The complainant reported that a small amount of change and a small knife were stolen. No suspect (s) have been identified. OBPD File 2020-2050.
