OBPD File #’s 20-2071, 2073 & 2069
On July 6th, police responded to three separate calls of the thefts in the King George Terrace area. The three theft victims confirmed their large plants in pots have been stolen from their driveways. A cement gargoyle figurine was also stolen. Police canvassed the area and determined there were no witnesses. No suspect has been identified at this time.

OBPD File #20-2086
On July 7th, at approximately 2200 hrs police received a complaint regarding Facebook fraud. The victim of the fraud accepted a friend request from an unknown person and subsequently lent a sum of money to the new friend. The matter is under investigation.

Police advise that the public use extra caution when dealing with finances online especially via social media. The latest information on scams and financial crime can be looked at on the Better Business Bureau website as well as the Canadian Anti fraud Centre.

OB File #20-21230
On July 12th, Police observed a speeding vehicle in the area of Cedar Hill Cross Road. A vehicle stop was initiated, the officer detected an odour of liquor from the driver. Subsequent investigation confirmed that the driver had consumed liquor. A 24-hr driving suspension was issued.

Police encourage the public to plan a head for a ride home if consuming liquor.
