OB File #20-898: On March 23rd, the Oak Bay Police received a theft from auto report from an unlocked vehicle in the 2500 block of Wootton Crescent. The suspect stole a pair of sunglasses.
OB File #914: On March 24th, the Oak Bay Police received a theft from auto complaint from two unlocked vehicles parked at a residence in the 2600 block of Topp Avenue. Nothing was stolen in this incident.
OB File #20-921: On March 24th, the Oak Bay Police responded to another theft from auto complaint from an unlocked vehicle in the 2400 block of Eastdowne Road. Nothing was stolen.
OB File #20-933: On March 26h, the Oak Bay Police received a complaint of a theft of bicycle complaint in the1300 block of Mitchell Street. The suspect stole an unlocked green Norco Yorkville women’s 18 speed bicycle from a bicycle rack. The bicycle has an approximate value of $700.00.
OB File #20-936: On March 26th, the Oak Bay Police responded to a theft complaint from a vehicle in the 36 block of Sylvan Lane. The suspect stole the rear license plate from the vehicle. The license plate was added as stolen on the police database system.
OB File #20-938: On March 27th, the Oak Bay Police attended two break and enters at the University of Victoria. In one of the buildings which was under renovations the suspects stole a significant amount of copper piping. The other building the suspect used a pry tool to force a window from its hinges, accessed an office and stole a Macbook Pro computer. The Saanich Forensic Identification Section attended and were able to obtain prints from the window. The investigation is ongoing to identify the suspect.
OB File #20-949: On March 28th, the Oak Bay Police received a report of a possible impaired driver who was driving a black Hummer. The officer found the vehicle driving in the 1700 block of Foul Bay Road and conducted a traffic stop. The driver was prohibited from driving and was issued a Provincial Appearance Notice to attend court at a later date. The driver was also issued a 24- hour Prohibition Notice by drug who was suspected under the influence of cannabis.
