On May 18th, the first annual Scooter Rodeo was held at Willows Park. Participants were able to test their skills on a cone course and practice accessing a transit bus. Our thanks to ICBC, The Oak Bay Kiwanis Club, Canada Scooters, BC Transit, Telus, and Pure Fibre for all their work to make this event a success.
On May 19th, police responded to a parking lot off Oak Bay Avenue for a report of a pedestrian struck. An elderly male walked behind a large truck as it was backing in the parking lot and was knocked over. The male sustained a cut to his head from the fall that required stitches.
On May 19th, police were at the Cattle Point boat ramp and checked a couple of fishermen with regards to their catch. The two males had exceeded their allowable limit of crabs. The excess crabs were returned to the water and the men’s information will be passed on to DFO.
On May20th, police responded to a report of a distraught woman near the Trafalgar lookout on King George Terrace. The woman was threatening to jump off the rocks. Police officers attended, negotiated with the woman before apprehending her under the Mental Health Act. She was transported to Hospital.
