On May 20th, the Oak Bay Police Department received a report of a male masturbating at the baseball park at 2291 Cedar Hill Cross Road. The female complainant stated the offence took place on May 19th at approximately 11:30 am. The witness observed the indecent act as she walked behind him. The suspect male was wearing a black t-shirt and black pants and she was unable to determine the age of the male.
On May 22nd, at approximately 10:00 pm the Oak Bay Police Department received another report of an indecent act at 2291 Cedar Hill Cross Road. In this incident a third party witness informed a female complainant not to walk on the south sidewalk because the witness observed a male with his pants down. The police were unable to identify the unknown witness to make further inquiries. The complainant walked by Henderson Recreation Centre and observed a balding, heavy set male wearing a dark t-shirt that was facing the bushes and she was unable to ascertain if the male’s pants were up or down. A male matching the description was located in the area, he was questioned by police but he denied being involved in any such incident. Without further evidence to go on, the male was released without charges.
On May 23rd, at approximately 4:00 pm the Oak Bay Police Department responded to a robbery at the TD Canada Trust located at 2000 Cadboro Bay Road. The suspect made off with an undisclosed amount of money. No one was injured during the robbery. The investigation is continuing with the assistance of the Saanich Police Detective Division. The suspect is described as being Caucasian male, 25-30 years old, 6’ tall, slim build wearing a baseball cap, grey hoody and jeans.
On May 24th, at approximately 3:00 pm a vehicle was making a left turn on a green light from Goldsmith onto Foul Bay Road. A vehicle travelling southbound on Foul Bay Road ran the red light and struck the turning vehicle and the impact tore off the front bumper. The southbound driver was issued a violation ticket for ‘Fail to Stop for Red Light at Intersection’.
On May 25th, at approximately 5:00 pm the Oak Bay Police Department responded to a motor vehicle collision at the intersection of Estevan Avenue and Beach Drive. An eastbound vehicle stopped for the stop sign on Estevan Avenue and then drove into the intersection of Beach Drive and did not see a northbound motorcycle. The motorcycle hit the rear passenger quarter panel causing the operator of the motorcycle to dismount and fall to the pavement. The driver of the motorcycle sustained minor abrasions and was transported to the Royal Jubilee Hospital as precautionary measure. The violating driver received a violation ticket for ‘Fail to Yield After Stop’.
Also on May 25th, at approximately 6:30 pm a cyclist was hit while travelling eastbound on Currie Road. The offending vehicle was attempting to make a right turn from Island Road onto Currie Road when the incident occurred. The cyclist sustained minor abrasions and departed the area on foot. The driver of the offending vehicle received a violation ticket for ‘Fail to Obey Stop Sign’.
