Monday, May 2nd , (#16 – 1455): Residential break and enter 500 block of Monterey Avenue. Unidentified suspect entered the house while homeowner was asleep. A number of items were taken. The matter is still being investigated.
Monday, May 2nd , (#16 – 1456): Theft from auto in the 2100 block of Windsor Road. Unknown suspect entered an unlocked vehicle and removed undetermined items.
Monday, May 2nd , (#16 – 1475): Residential break and enter 3300 Ripon Road. Unidentified suspect entered the residence while no one was home and removed a number of items. The matter is still being investigated.
Tuesday, May 3rd, (#16 – 1476): Sometime in the last 3 weeks someone entered a house in the 600 block of Monterey Avenue and removed electronic equipment. No suspects have been identified.
Wednesday, Mary 4th, (#16 – 1489): Theft of Vehicle in the 2300 Estevan Avenue. Unidentified suspect entered an unlocked vehicle and removed a number of items. No suspects have been found.
From Wednesday (May 4) to Saturday (May 7) a number of parked vehicles had been entered in south and central parts of Oak Bay and a variety of items were stolen from inside the vehicles in some cases. In all of these incidents the vehicle doors were left unlocked by owners and valuables left inside. Investigations into these matters are ongoing. Oak Bay Police remind residents of Oak Bay to keep their vehicle doors locked at all times and do not leave any valuable items inside when leaving the vehicle unattended
Saturday, May 7th, (#16 – 1560): A witness watched someone consume a number of drinks and then get into a vehicle and drive. Fortunately a member of the Oak Bay Police was nearby and stopped the vehicle. The driver subsequently failed two roadside tests. The driver received a 90 day Immediate Roadside Suspension and their vehicle was towed.
