Weekly Media Release May 30 – June 5, 2016

On Monday, the 30 May, there were 14 routine calls for service.

On Tuesday, the 31 May, there were 14 calls for service, including one complaint where furniture was stolen from the front lobby of a condominium complex in south Oak Bay, this file is still under investigation.  The remaining 13 calls were routine service calls.

On Wednesday, the 01 June, there were 24 calls for service, which were mostly routine service calls, however, there was 1 one break and enter into an abandoned house in south Oak Bay where copper tubing was stolen.  There are no suspects in these matters.

On Thursday, the 02 June, there were 11 calls for service.

On Friday, the 03 June, the opening day of the Oak Bay Tea Party, there were 13 calls for service, two of which were related to the usual parking issues around Willows Beach and the OB Tea Party.

On Saturday, the 04 June,  there were 21 calls for service, including five parking complaints related to the OB Tea Party, and four complaints of mischief relating to tires being slashed in the Camosun College parking lot.  The remaining calls were service-related.

On Sunday, the 05 June, there were 20 calls for service, including two more cars which had their tires slashed in the Camosun College parking lot, the remainder of the calls were routine in nature and included several complaints concerning parking around the Willow Beach and the OB Tea Party area.  Other than parking complaints and lost property complaints, no serious issues arose during the three days of the Tea Party.
