On October 10th at 1:50am police stopped a motor vehicle for speeding on Cadboro Bay Rd near Fort Street. The driver, a 45 yr old female from Langford, displayed signs of alcohol impairment and was given a demand for breath samples. The driver failed the roadside screening tests and police issued an immediate 90 day driving prohibition and her motor vehicle was impounded for 30 days.
On October 10th police received a report that a residence on Lorne Terrace had been broken into sometime during daylight hours the previous day. A purse was stolen but no other items noted missing. No damage occurred to the residence during this event.
On October 10th police received a report that sometime overnight a motorized scooter was stolen from a residence on Goldsmith Ave. Security video footage of the suspect in the parkade was obtained showing the theft occurring at 4:00am. The scooter was brand name “Shop Rider” and the model was “Cobra” and it is grey and black in colour. Police are continuing their investigation.
On October 11th at 12:35am police responded to an injury motor vehicle collision on Foul Bay Rd at the intersection with Kings Rd. A 2002 Acura TL had been northbound and stopped behind another vehicle that was waiting at the intersection to turn. A 1996 Mazda Protégé, also northbound, drove into the rear of the stopped Acura causing minor injuries to two occupants, one being a young boy. The young lad was transported to hospital by ambulance as a precautionary measure.
