The Oak Bay Police Department responded to 92 calls for service this week.

OB File #20-3385
On Monday, October 26, The OBPD received a report of a commercial break and enter in the 2000 blk of Oak Bay Avenue, that occurred sometime between Oct 25-26. The suspect cut a hole out of the drywall at the rear of the store and entered the premise. The rear door exit door was damaged as well. No one was inside the store when it was entered. The Forensic Identification Section did not attend as the area was contaminated by the store employees prior to police arrival. There were no CCTV cameras and neighbourhood enquiries were conducted with negative results. The matter is still under investigation with regards to what was stolen.

On Tuesday, October 27, the OBPD received a report from the Oak Bay Marina that overnight someone stole 5 metal boat stands. The stands were in front of the work shop and the approximate value of each one is $300.00. No video surveillance was available. They were freshly painted blue with new grey pads on top.

On Saturday, October 31, the OBPD responded to the Oak Bay Beach Hotel at approximately 3am for some youths who were not guests who were swimming in the pool. Two youths were issued violation tickets pursuant to the Trespass Act which has a prescribed fine of $115.00. The youths were banned from attending the hotel.

On Sunday, November 1, the OBPD attended a graffiti incident at Oak Bay High School. The suspect used orange spray paint and red paint on one of the walls of the school. The security guard at the Oak Bay High School witnessed the event and the investigation is ongoing to identify the suspect.

On Sunday, November 1, the same paint was seen on the rear wall of a business in the 2200 block of Oak Bay Avenue.
