During the week of August 23rd and August 30th, Oak Bay members responded to a couple of thefts of bicycles. One bicycle was left unlocked and the other had the lock cut. On July 27th the Oak Bay Police received a report of two stolen bicycles in the 900 block of Hampshire Rd. The bicycles were removed from a garage possibly left unlocked. On July 20th an Oak Bay member was doing traffic enforcement when he observed a vehicle driving without any taillights on. On July 16th, at approximately 4:00 am the Oak Bay Police Department responded to a commercial glass break in the 2000 block of Oak Bay Avenue. The suspect smashed a side window, entered the store and stole a 29” Specialized Levo electric bicycle (value: $3700.00) from the front display window. On June 30, police responded to a theft from auto in the 2000 block of Dufferin Ave. Investigation revealed that the vehicle had been left unlocked and a number of items including an IPad, MacBook and a laptop computer were stolen. On June 25, 2020, an Oak Bay Police member was conducting traffic enforcement in the 400 block of Beach Drive when they observed a vehicle speeding.
