Investigation and Arrest

Oak Bay Police have been investigating a series of Break and Enters that occurred to various commercial institutions between January 28th, 2012, and January 29th, 2012, including the following:

On January 28, 2012 between 8:00 pm and 9:30 pm, the Story Studio business in the 2200 block of Cadboro Bay Road , in Oak Bay was broken into and an Imac computer stolen.

On January 29, 2012, at 9:25 pm, the Leonard’s Drycleaning business in the 2500 block of Cadboro Bay Road, in Oak Bay, was broken into and the culprit was disturbed before removing any property.

On January 29, 2012, at 11:00 pm, the Latte One Coffee shop in the 2000 block of Cadboro Bay Road, in Oak Bay was broken into and a small amount of cash was stolen.

Oak Bay Police have continued to investigate these matters since.  A local 26 year old male suspect was identified and has subsequently admitted to the Break and Enters.

Daniel LONG, a 25 year old resident of Victoria, appeared in court this week and was sentenced to 4 months custody in relation to this matter.

The follow up investigation and subsequent interview of the accused by our detective section led to the successful resolution of these investigations and hopefully will provide some peace of mind to the victims that the suspect was arrested.
