Oak Bay Police Investigate Early Morning Break and Enter
Oak Bay Police Department is investigating a break and enter and robbery that occurred in the early morning hours of October 20, 2025, at a residence in the community.
At approximately 3:49 a.m., police responded to a report from a resident who stated that an unknown male had entered the home, stolen personal items, and made verbal threats. The suspect is believed to have entered through an unlocked door, proceeded to the upper floor, and removed a cell phone and credit cards from a bedside table. The resident, who was asleep at the time, awoke to find the suspect nearby. The suspect reportedly instructed the resident to remain in bed and threatened harm before fleeing the scene.
Police initiated a canine track, which was unsuccessful. The scene was secured for forensic examination, and the stolen cell phone was later recovered in nearby bushes.
Just hours later, following further investigation and coordination with the Victoria Police Department, a suspect was located after at least two other break and enter incidents occurred in the Victoria jurisdiction. The suspect, a 54-year-old man and resident of Victoria, remains in custody while these investigations continue.
