Theft from Vessel
On October 4, 2025, OBPD received a report of theft from a sailboat that had run ashore in Cadboro Bay near the Victoria Yacht Club. The incident occurred in the early morning hours of October 2, between 2:30 a.m. and 7:00 a.m. Items reported stolen include navigation and safety equipment, personal belongings, and clothing. No suspect description. Police are seeking assistance from the public if you have any information relating to this incident. (OBPD File 25-2795)
Motor Vehicle Collision – Vehicle vs Cyclist
On September 29, 2025, at approximately 2:29 p.m., a cyclist was struck by a vehicle at Foul Bay Road and Neil Street. The vehicle had just exited a parking lot and was travelling northbound when it collided with the cyclist, who was turning left. The cyclist was transported to hospital with abrasions and a fractured ankle. The vehicle remained at the scene and was later towed; damage included a shattered windshield. Both the driver and passengers remained on scene and spoke with police. The investigation is ongoing and charges under the Motor Vehicle Act are being considered. (OBPD File 25-2748)
Shots Fired – Suspicious Incident
On September 30, 2025, at approximately 12:19 p.m., OBPD received a report of possible gunshots and a vehicle speeding away near the 3300 block of University Woods. Multiple residents reported hearing sounds consistent with gunfire. A light brown sedan with a small Canadian flag near the passenger-side mirror was seen leaving the area. OPBD officers, including the Integrated Canine Service (ICS) and members of the Greater Victoria Emergency Response Team (GVERT), conducted a visual inspection and neighborhood canvass; no shell casings or other evidence were located.
