EXCESSIVE SPEEDING
On Saturday May 2nd 2026, police were conducting proactive traffic enforcement monitoring vehicles in the 3600 block of Cedar Hill Cross Rd. At approximately 20:00 hrs a speeding vehicle was observed travelling 92km/hr in a 50km/hr zone. The driver was issued a ticket for excessive speed ($368.00) and the vehicle was towed and impounded for a period of 7 days. (File 2026-1236)
HARASSING PHONE CALLS
On April 28, 2026, at approximately 2:11 p.m., Oak Bay Police received a report of harassing telephone calls to a business in the 2800 block of Foul Bay Road. Female staff reported receiving multiple unwanted calls over a short period of time from an unidentified caller who appeared to have a male voice, spoke in a hushed or whispering manner, and made inappropriate comments. Officers attended the business, spoke with staff, and provided safety advice.
Police are aware of similar reports involving businesses in Oak Bay and other jurisdictions. Repeated unwanted communications may constitute criminal harassment and are taken seriously by police. Business owners are encouraged to document incidents, speak with their service provider about call tracing options, and report these incidents promptly.
